The problem of wave processes in a system consisting of a cylindrical shell and a soil medium of periodic structure under impulsive loading is solved numerically. The results obtained allow us to control the parameters of a compressional wave entering the soil and to predict the behavior of the wave processes, depending on geometrical and mechanical parameters of the shell and soil [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
