We study the electrochemical behavior of titanium synthesized by the method of powder metallurgy in a 20% solution of hydrochloric acid. It is shown that the corrosion current density decreases as the titanium-hydride content of the source powder mixture increases, i.e., as the density of the compacted material increases as a result of the decrease in the number of pores in the structure of the specimens. In this case, the corrosion potentials shift to the positive side. The results of impedance tests correlate with the data obtained by the potentiodynamic method. The resistance of passive films formed on the surface to the action of corrosive media increases with the addition of titanium hydride to the source mixture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
