By the method of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), we study the changes in the fine structure of 13Kh11N2V2MF steel, the character of distribution of dislocations and local internal stresses formed under deformation influence in the course of low-cycle fatigue tests. It is established that, in the intact metal, the submicrostructure does not have visible stress concentrators and sharp gradients of the dislocation density. Under the deformation influence, a gradient dislocation structure is formed in the fracture zone. Moreover, we observe the appearance of local internal stresses that are much higher in martensite and near grain boundaries than in ferrite and in the grain bodies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
