The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is in discussions to assist Nigeria's economy with funds from the $4 billion Ukraine Crisis Adjustment Trade Financing Programme for Africa (UKAFPA). The President of Afreximbank, Mr Benedict Oramah, stated that this assistance would help mitigate the impact of the food and fuel crises in Nigeria. The UKAFPA is a credit facility program developed by the bank to manage the effects of the Ukraine crisis on African economies and businesses. The bank is also expanding its support to Nigeria in the areas of fuel importation and food. The UKAFPA-compliant financing requests received from across Africa already exceed $15 billion. The bank expects to generate up to $16 billion by leveraging partnerships and other intervention structures. [Extracted from the article]
