The increasingly alarming signals of depletion and scarcity of renewable and nonrenewable natural resources require more than concrete and quick actions from governments so as to address them knowing that the world today is living on credit. In such context, circular economy has emerged and is already practiced in several countries worldwide. In France, a law on circular economy and the fight against food waste was enacted in 2020. Circular economy has virtues that could save humanity and preserve the needs of future generations. It is a practice which impacts modes of production, distribution and consumption of companies and requires new forms of logistical organization. These represent the core of circular economy and play an important role in the transformation from the linear model to the circular model. However, little research highlights these new forms of logistical organization. The research question is therefore how the integration of circular economy transforms the logistical organization of companies. This thesis funded by ADEME aims at showing the logistical changes via the industrial ecology pillar deployed at Port Atlantique La Rochelle. For this purpose, we have adopted a qualitative methodology based on deductive reasoning and an in-depth study of 6 business cases. It therefore follows from this doctoral research that circular economy: (1) can be qualified as an organizational innovation via industrial ecology; (2) creates changes in companies’ supply chains; (3) has many environmental, economic and social benefits; and yet (4) companies, in implementing it, face several economic, technical, organizational and environmental difficulties. ; Les signaux de plus en plus alarmants de l’épuisement et de la rareté des ressources naturelles renouvelables et non renouvelables nécessitent des actions plus que concrètes et rapides de la part des gouvernements pour y remédier sachant que la terre vit aujourd’hui à crédit.
