This research addressed the topic of communicational criterion analysis based on the practice of reading, because reading is a door to the imagination, when we read we know new words which can serve us in a conversation with people who have different interests and at the same time. Once it helps us to integrate ourselves into the world, the methodology that was used in this research is that of induction-deduction since this method is based on logic directly, and the research is aimed at the analysis of communicational criteria based on the practice of reading , that is, it allows us to formulate theories and deductions about the research, the results obtained were that the majority of adolescents do not read frequently since they have distractors such as online games and social networks. The main objective of the research was to analyze the communicational criteria based on the practice of reading in the first semester of the communication career of the UTB Extension Quevedo-Year 2021. A methodology with a qualitative approach of descriptive scope was proposed. The development of the theoretical perspective is based on the review of academic documentation, which gives us more information about our research topic, there were several topics that help us to give explanations of the communication criterion based on reading, that is, chose the criteria of several authors.
