Spectrophotometric study of soil profiles in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine

Dependences between the spectral brightness factor (SBF) of soils and the humus content have been studied. A series of calibration curves was obtained for the relationship between the integral SBF values and the humus content in soil profiles, and the principles of their extrapolation to soil areas were developed. Guidelines to the quantitative diagnostics of soil profiles by SBF, humus content, and physical clay content were elaborated.
