The electrochemical reduction of 1-R-2,4,6-tris(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)benzenes was studied by the rotating disk electrode method, by the cyclic voltammetry, and preparative potential-controlled electrolysis. The mechanism of the electroreduction of these compounds in the aprotic media was shown to be determined by the nature of a substituent, R, and the conditions of the process performance (with or without air oxygen).
