Pour les médecins du XVIIe siècle, le sang ne revient jamais au cœur, il est directement consommé par les organes et les muscles. Harvey s’emploie au contraire à démontrer qu’il ne cesse de circuler.
For the doctors of the beginning of the XVIIth century, blood never goes back to the heart : it is consumed by organs and muscles. Harvey applied himself to demonstrating that in the contrary blood never stop circulating.
